Courts re-opening on Monday

We are pleased to confirm that as part of the ‘roadmap’ our tennis courts will re-open on March 29th – next Monday! Both doubles and singles matches are permitted.

The clubhouse use is limited to accessing tennis balls and signing the book only, but the loos can be used. Social distancing and the 2 metres rule will still apply with no socialising before or after play. More info from the LTA here: Permitted activity from 29th March

Membership Subscriptions

Also a  reminder that subscription fees are due on April 1st. It has been agreed that the annual subscriptions should remain frozen at:

  • Senior membership: £120 (£115 for payment before April 30th)
  • Junior membership: £30 (£25 for payment before April 30th)

The £5 discount is to encourage timely payment.

We recognise that due to Government Restrictions our members did not get a full 12 months of tennis in the last year but most expenses have continued – insurance, utility costs, grass cutting etc.

In addition, through careful management of income we have been able to improve the clubs facilities as follows:

2017 – new top court (£16,512), moss treatment (£1,334)

2019 – clubhouse repairs (£2,592), new nets (£252)

2020 – power clean of courts (£2,940), trench and fence (£702)

All of these investments have improved the quality of the courts and the enjoyment of playing tennis at our marvelous club. I hope you can therefore appreciate the key importance of maintaining membership fees; many small sports clubs are in exactly the same situation. Indeed in spite of all the above we have managed to keep subscriptions the same for this year.

Upon receipt of membership fees, Club identification cards and shoe tags will be issued to
identify bone-fide members along with any new code to operate the gate lock.
